Eat your medicine

Do you love the Autumn season? I do, but it's the cold, flu, and allergy season I dislike. By including a few of my favorite "super-foods" you can strengthen your immune system and greatly reduce the horrible symptoms that come along with seasonal illnesses.  One of my favorite lines is "eat your medicine," and there is much truth to that statement. Try adding some fresh fruit to breakfast. Kiwi, strawberries, grapefruit, cantalope, oranges, and blueberries are all excellent sources of vitamins B and C and potassium. For your afternoon and evening meals, you should include spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell pepper, or sweet potatoes. These are high invitamin A and C and loaded with potassium.

Add extra flavor and power up your immune system with ginger, onions, garlic, and cranberries. We all need antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antibacterials and herbs are a great way to do just that.
